According to the Center for Disease Control, graffiti is a “Community Level Risk Factor for Violence” and the removal of graffiti is a part of a sensible effort towards the prevention of violence.
If you have graffiti in your neighborhood, the chances of various kinds of violence is increased. The Guardian Angels wants to help reduce the Risk Factors that lead to violence. In this case, in addition to bringing Safety Patrols to the neighborhood, we want to help remove the graffiti.

Note: Quite a bit of the graffiti removal doesn’t need a professional team. If it’s graffiti on a painted surface, keep some paint around for a quick cover-up. Fresh paint looks great in your neighborhood anyways. And, if you and your neighbors are quick to remove or paint over fresh graffiti, you’ll quickly see less and less new graffiti.
